Ann Curry's Wheaton Flub Goes Viral

As an alumnus of the other Wheaton College, I have to agree that Ann Curry deserves an alotment of grace, given a break, and shown compassion. Consider it done by me, at least. At the same time, I am grinning ear-to-ear that under the influence of alcohol she lost the appreciation for the fact that Wheaton, Mass has only admitted men since 1988. Billy Graham, Dennis Hastert, Wes Craven... all graduated long before that. Must have been some strong hooch she was drinking. Then again, during a state of inebriation, Freddy Kruger's razor fingers (Wes Craven's character) could be misconstrued as a first-rate set of women's nails!

Ann curry handle the situation at Wheaton College with such GRACE. That is what I love about her. She is so warm and caring and real! she is a wonderful role model to young women around the world.

we would love to have Ann visit Mount Union College to speak anytime. Thank you Ann for your wonderful and honest reporting!

Her mistake was grade school and demonstrated an utter incapability. Her explanation of her mistake - don't Google while drunk - went beyond even this, utterly lacking professionalism or grace. This is failure on multiple scales.

Anyone who calls herself a journalist and doesn't do basic fact-checking doesn't deserve to do the job--let alone be a commencement speaker.

She's a strange bird. Always putting her foot in it. This is only one of her MANY flubs. Really embarrassing, but just shows you want a quasi journalist she really is.

I also think Curry should be cut some slack. As a Wheaton College graduate in attendance at her speech, I truly thought her talk was inspiring and moving. We all make silly mistakes, and Curry is actually teaching a great lesson to all of the graduates. She took responsibility and apologized, and that shows real class and dignity. I appreciated her greater message, and was very happy she gave our commencement speech, as were the vast majority of people in attendance.

Give her a break. Ann Curry is one of the nicest, kindest, and caring people on TV. Isn't she allowed to make a mistake? Get off her case.

Funny how judgmental people can be - they must have NEVER made any mistakes. I don't think many people could carry Ms. Curry's schedule, and carry themselves in the professional and graceful manner she does EVERY DAY. How about some compassion from one human being to another?

So when is NBC's SNL doing a skit on this one?

Journalist? I think NOT!
