It appears that Michael E. Mann has lied to Congress in his July 27, 2006 appearance. Mann and his cohorts have manipulated Government’s and business to spend billions of dollars to combat man caused climate warming, which may be the result the natural variation. Research of the E Mails per the Dec 2011 Forbes acticle; “three themes are emerging from the newly released emails: (1) prominent scientists central to the global warming debate are taking measures to conceal rather than disseminate underlying data and discussions; (2) these scientists view global warming as a political “cause” rather than a matter for balanced scientific inquiry; and (3) many of these scientists frankly admit to each other that much of the science is weak and dependent on deliberate manipulation of facts and data. Additionally, the new Climategate emails show alarmists launching personal attacks against scientists who publish research indicating humans may not be causing a climate crisis. Michael Mann, for example, brags to fellow alarmists about recruiting investigative journalists to target and “expose” skeptical scientist Steve McIntyre. The new Climategate emails also reveal Mann recruiting fellow alarmists to pressure Harvard University to crack down on prominent scientists Willie Soon and Sallie Baliunas for publishing research indicating solar variability has been a more important factor in recent temperature changes than carbon dioxide emissions.” Anyone doing a internet search can eaily find the carbon follows temperature by 100's of years, that in most of the earth known history carbon has been much higher than today, e.g Jurassic period carbon was 2500 vs. the 380 ppm today.

You are a voice of reason in the wilderness of left-

and right- wing stupidity and fanaticism.

Praise to the few who addressed specific issues and

specific aspects of data, and who made claims that

can be tested.

For all others, continue enjoying your left-wing

or right-wing circle-jerks, where everyone agrees

with you. And keep idiotically lashing at anyone

who does not agree with you.

Fox news has the guts to report this (next I'll search this site).

...How thoroughly did Penn State University investigate a top climate scientist who brought hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to the school? A growing number of critics say they hardly looked at all.

...

They wrote in their report that "that there exists no credible evidence that Dr. Mann had ever engaged in, or participated in, directly or indirectly, any actions with intent to delete, conceal or otherwise destroy emails, information and/or data."

...

But the findings and, more importantly, the focus have set off a wave of criticism accusing the university panel of failing to interview key people, neglecting to conduct more than a cursory review of allegations and structuring the inquiry so that the outcome -- exoneration -- was a foregone conclusion.

...

Mann, according to published reports, has gotten a grant almost $550,000 in stimulus money to study climate change and is part of a nearly $2 million grant to Penn State to study the impact of climate change on various diseases.

"Until the investigation is completed," Issa said, "the National Science Foundation should immediately freeze all grants and funding, including the $541,184 stimulus grant, to Professor Mann." ...

No surprise that Mann is let off the hook.

That's going to be a whitewash if there ever is one. You conduct internal investigations so you can say you looked into it but nothing was done wrong.

"The Commonwealth Foundation in Harrisburg, Pa. does not trust Pennsylvania State University to investigate Climategate hockey sticker Michael Mann, because of the millions of dollars that his research brings to the university. ...

Although PSU has announced that it will investigate Climategate, given Mann’s financial and reputational value to the university, and the likely embarrassment resulting from an adverse finding concerning his conduct, there is good reason to believe that a PSU-managed investigation might amount to little more than a whitewash. ..."

I knew nothing would come from this. Money is a powerful tool.

Climategate: Michael Mann's very unhappy New Year

"...Michael Mann – creator of the incredible Hockey Stick curve and one of the scientists most heavily implicated in the Climategate scandal – is about to get a very nasty shock. When he turns up to work on Monday, he’ll find that all 27 of his colleagues at the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University have received a rather tempting email inviting them to blow the whistle on anyone they know who may have been fraudulently misusing federal grant funds for climate research. ..."

REAL science looks for the truth. It's immoral to use taxpayer money to find new ways to extract even more money from the public using the common element CO2.
