A global technology center has opened its doors at Syracuse University, and students at Syracuse can expect plenty of internships and work experience from the new operation. Syracuse University officially opened its JPMorgan Chase Technology Center on Tuesday, though parts of the operation had been running since last summer, reports the Daily Orange.
The center, which employs 125, will serve as a research facility and a hot spot for global technology innovation. Syracuse students will team up with the center's full-time employees to assist in the projects. There are 30 students currently working as interns, the center's director, Jeffrey Saltz, told the Orange, but there will be more in the future.
"Students will get a chance to learn about what it's like to work in a global enterprise, and we'll get productive work out of these students as well," Saltz tells the Daily Orange.
This isn't the first time JPMorgan Chase and Syracuse have collaborated: They created an academic minor—global enterprise technology—that has close to 450 enrolled students, the report says.
