From a 3rd year Cal State University (Northridge) student living in the dorms on campus- education is and forever will be one of the most important resources the United States has. The students who do not receive a thurough education now will cause a dip in the progessive times ahead. Graduated, and EDUCATED students will be the men and woman who transform the economin crisis into less a stressful economy. EDUCATED AMERICAN STUDENTS TODAY ARE PICKING UP AFTER THE BABY BOOMERS GLOBAL TRASH. Money is all in computer systems, jobs are needed in new areas of exprience, and the "American dream" is a new understanding for the millenium kids. Forever schooling will be needed to guide young children/adults towards understanding how resources are distributed in the world and why is it some receive more than others. There is no way around the budget now, but there are ways to change what could be.

The link to the Chronicle of Higher Education report doesn't work. What is the name to the report?

Is education a right or a privilege? Is healthcare a right or a privilege? The mentality that everything is a 'right' is what is causing this mess....not a political party.

Something has to go: healthcare, education, socail services..take your pick. Money do not grow on trees. It's time students pay for quality education.

Good news? Only if your happy with the destruction of the state. Screw the poor, the environment, and education. Its the mantra of the GOP.
