I wish the folks in Texas could send some of their good ol' common sense here to California. The liberals here have managed to just about totally destroy what was once a vibrant and productive state with their failed socialist experiments. And even now, in the midst of financial and social collapse, the lib fools are to dumb to admit their failures; they're still arguing for more tax and spend.

Take heed folks, if you have a choice, send your kids to a school in Texas.

Good goin' Texas Tech. You've got the libs whining. It dosen't get any better than that.

Texas Tech hired Bobby "The Strangler" Knight, so this should be no surprise. Texas Tech recruitment states: "If your CV includes direct evidence of blatant disregard for human rights and you hold your esteemed position in disregard, join our band of posses and we'll let you ride and carry out justice as you see fit. Cause nobody messes with Texas." They are not called Red Raiders for nothing.

I am very glad to hear that Texas Tech is hiring Mr. Gonzales.

Texas has a large population of Hispanics and I think that he can be a big help in having more of them attending Texas Tech.

As for the political mess that occurred while he was Attorney General I wish people would stop and think for a while before spouting off. Both parties have hired and fired because of a person's political leanings. It has happened before and will happen again. It is time for the American people to use their own common sense and stop being led around by the nose by the media and politicians.

I come from the suburbs of Boston and have known quite a few people who have attended Harvard. I now live in Texas and have known and know quite a few people who have attended Texas Tech.

Given the choice I would send my children to Texas Tech before I would send them to Harvard.

... most of the comments celebrating this appointment contain either a grammatical error, a misspelling or both? No doubt the young lady who will be "attenting" Texas Tech will feel perfectly at home there.

In Mr. Gonzales' testimony to Congress he appeared either totally incompetent or fully in contempt of the legislative branch. Either way, it was a sad day for our country and should have totally disqualified him from any professional standing. It's hard to imagine what Mr. Gonzales could ever teach anyone and this hiring does not reflect well on Texas Tech, where the disregard of basic US constitutional principles appears to be a bagatelle problem.

Please know that there are many in Texas who find such developments improper and disagree strongly with everything Mr. Gonzales represents -- incompetence, ignorance, and cronyism.
