What happened to Congressman Tom Tancredo definitely says there is no longer "Freedom of Speech for American's". What happened, should never have happened in our country, but it did. Until the American citizens stand up and speak out agaist the Illegal's taking over our country, we don't stand a chance of survival. I'm not overly concerned about the Mexican's who come here with little or no education, many not speaking english, I'm concerned about the thousands of illegal Middle Easterner's who have invaded our country and mean us harm. They come well educated, many speaking several languages, they commit their crimes, i.e., cigarette smuggling, drugs, etc., launder the money in open their own business, and continue their crimes, with the profits going overseas to terrorist groups. The Mexican's work, send their money home to their famnily, but you'll never see a M/E doing that. The form corporations, seldom if ever filing the required annual reports, obtain a "Privilege Lic.", never file the DBA they use, and never file with the Tax Office and pay taxes on their equipment as is required. They come well trained on how to work our system, and laugh at the Dumb American's. They surround us everywhere, run every convenience store, smoke shop, etc., and no one realizes what is happening to our country, and evidently don't care, or they'd speak up and do something about it. WAKE UP AMERICA

UNC,

Um,...The reason the majority of our "well educated fellow Americans" are so quick to support "immigration reform" is because they are the very people who face the least likely chance of losing their job to an illegal worker. I am an American carpenter. I am the man who gets up at 5:30am. every morning and puts on the work boots and has to go out and deal with the hassle of having to compete with those that ignored the laws that were developed to protect our domestic workforce from being overwhelmed by the billions of people around the globe who wish to work in a developed Nation such as the United States...The wish and desire to have a "Better Life" for oneself and ones family is the wish and desire of virtually every human being on planet Earth, Hence the development and need for immigration Law.

Put simply, You know nothing of what You speak. So spare Us all Your foolishness.

Robert Anderson is an idiot. Tancredo is neither a bigot or a racist, and he was never a senator. He presents another one of those uninformed rants, and, in the process destroys his own argument.

come to Calif. and see what its like.Emergency rooms go away. They take good paying jobs in construction. They get on welfare with their kids. you better understand spanish. they take more out than they contribute with all the assistance they get,not to mention the adults have about a sixth grade education. Heck they even get goverment houseing.Every thing that they take is a handout. It was meant to be a safety net for Americans,a hand up! Gee lets go jump the fence at the border and let americans pay to raise our family's. The last time they made a path to citizenship it failed in 1995. Enforcement only. wait your turn in line. It stars in the rear

Carl, it is about time that someone added that the often heated debate regarding our country's fundamentally broken immigration system doesn't just apply to illegal aliens from Mexico. The fact is that if you dissect this deep rooted debate it becomes clear that there are many economic facets affected by such. At this point China owns a large percentage of our country's credit card debt and we are in such financial duress that the majority of our country is already owned by the Chinese!

Of the many illegal aliens who are living in the shadows throughout the United States these people are of many different races, colors, and creeds. The wonderful thing about being an American is that we all have a right to voice our opinions whether one agrees or disagrees with what is expressed. With this I did watch the cable networks news coverage of what took place when former Senator Tom Tancredo had been invited to speak at this institution of higher education.

While Mr. Tancredo is a proven bigot and racist I must add that ignorance doesn’t beget ignorance. For those UNC students who opposed his agenda to act in the manner which they did were outright wrong to say the least! Both the students who were pro Tancredo and the ones who weren’t should have approached this venue in a civil and organized manner and all attended this event where they all could have expressed their opinions respectfully.

Now, for all of you right wing conservatives who have taken on the same beliefs and values of Tancredo allow me to elaborate that those ideologies lost him his seat as a Senator and showed that he would have no chance of ever obtaining a presidential nomination. Further, the do nothing Republican Party continued to show that they were not worthy of maintaining political office when the house and senate was overwhelmingly taken over by the Democratic Party! Because the Bush Administration failed to make good on any promises made to include the deep rooted immigration debate they are referred to just as Tancredo, “former”!

The majority of well educated fellow Americans, believe that we are a compassionate society, founded by immigrants such as those who now surprisingly oppose such, realize that comprehensive immigration reform is the one and only true way to fix such a fundamentally broken system. It would be humanly impossible to deport 12 million illegal aliens let alone thousands as ICE so often makes reference to. Just as anyone else we do not want criminals in our country to exploit us, or our value system which is why there should be call for comprehensive immigration reform.

These immigrants often do take on many jobs that we Americans would never do. I’m sure that non of you here are looking for a career selling oranges on a freeway off ramp, or picking in the fields 18 hours a day 7 days a week for little to no pay just to look for a better way of life and support a poor family back home. Guess what, by providing these illegal aliens with a path to residency and eventual citizenship those who are here with good intentions will come out of the shadows while those who are not will then be a smaller, easier number to round up jail and deport once they came!

Comprehensive immigration reform is the solution to this deep rooted debate as was proven when the Republican Party was ousted for taking the wrong stand on this issue more than any other issue!

Mark my words we need them just as much as they need us!

These countries are key in improving our economy as well as standing in the world community!

Legalize the illegal and the corrupt Republican politicians who spoke out against such because of their own personal agenda of wanting to keep them illegal for cheap labor for their gain will have to wake up and hire by the law instead of violating it by hiring under the table such as Mitt Romney’s grounds keepers, or Bushes Crawford Ranch hands! The list goes on and on; but it is about to get shut down as President Obama hasn’t just kept his word on issues, he’s making it happen and putting us back into the world communities good graces with our support and the dream team he has running his Administration!

Read between the line!

We are a consensual society under a Constitution that provides rights, freedoms and the mechanics to create laws that we citizens live by. Citizens accept that breaking our laws results in proscribed punishments and full jails testify to the fact. An unholy alliance of lawbreaking illegal aliens, criminal employers and elected officials that look the other way are hypocrites and anarchists. They feel that they can pick and choose which laws are convenient for them to follow and willingly break those that are personally inconvenient. This breaks down our admired legal system and works against the rule of law that we depend upon for our daily safety and national security. All lawbreaking illegal aliens should be deported, all criminal employers should be jailed and elected officials that have failed to carry out their oath of office to defend the Constitution and our laws should be fired, voted out of office, impeached and perhaps charged with criminal dereliction of duty. The 1986 amnesty was a total failure. Never again! In the 60s students fought hard for freedom of speech. Shamefully, 4 decades later, students shut down freedom of speech. Disgusting!

It's like this people.Reality 101.Illegals are criminals and nothing more. They need to be sent right back to where they came from Right now the last thing we need is to have a bunch of illegals and non-immagrants in the U.S.We need to adress our problems and take care of our own people first and our country before we can continue to help others.Either way Illegals should not be allowed to saty here nor recieve any benefoits of any kind period/If you like them so much why do you not go to their country and live?

Rule of law does not come from blood or race, as Luther suggests. It comes from economic stability, precedent, and tradition. The Irish, Poles, and Germans were in their time also accused of undermining American morals and work ethic.

As for Keystone Kid's comment, if the United States were readily offering citizenship to Mexican migrant workers, I imagine many would accept. Citizenship isn't on offer though. So, US-born children of illegal immigrants can't become citizens, not easily at least.

Meanwhile, the leadership of our country, Tom Tancredo included, turn a blind eye to illegal immigration so as to keep labor costs in the US low. What that means is that WASPish US citizens like Luther and Keystone wind up earning less while the elites like Tancredo, Clinton, and the heads of capital reap greater profits. Their opinions are naive and they unwittingly work against their own interests.
