if anyone needs to be together, its gays,esp...if they are freshman. Its a supportive effort not unlike separate living areas for men and women. also, its a safety issue that i would think a gay person proposed anyway.(no prejudise intened.)

I go to TCU and I agree, it is not a Christian university and honestly they should change their name. They would have opened a lot of dangerous doors by creating gay/lesbian housing (dangerous meaning controversial so don't take that out of context). They wouldn't have been caring for them, it would have caused a division in the university. Many of my friends were going to transfer if this happened, not because they are homophobic, but because of the hypocricy. If they want to be a multi-cultural university, then change the name to Texas Multi-Cultural University. Don't claim you are a Christ centered university and then ignore the very principles that christianity is founded upon.

Before anyone labels TCU as "unchristian," I suggest a viewing of "For the Bible tells me so" (http://www.forthebibletellsmeso.org/indexa.htm).
I would remind everyone that the bible has, in the past and, unfortunately, even today by many people, been used to foster discrimination against, and even the killing & enslaving of, among others, women, non-whites, and Jews. One can always interpret a document like the bible to support any racist/sexist/homophobic stand one chooses to take.

I guess Texas Christian University isn't necessarily a "christian" university is they were planning to build gay-themed housing anyway. They really should change their name.
