Confirmed: Meningitis Caused Death of West Virginia Student

University and health officials confirmed yesterday that a 19-year-old West Virginia student who died last week was infected with bacterial meningitis. Doctors tested her spinal cord. As a preventative measure, health officials gave antibiotics to about 40 people who may have been exposed to the infection. No other cases have been reported.
