She was just Bush's "token black". She definitely set back equality 10 years.

btw, If waterboarding is legal for the USA to do, then it is legal for the rest of the world to do to US soldiers/citizens.

Condoleezza Rice is scheduled to attend a $500 a plate fundraising dinner at the University of Calgary on May 13. When she visited Aukland University in 2008, the student society placed a $10,000 bounty on her head, payable to a successful citizen's arrester. She will not be welcomed in Calgary, no more than her war criminal associate George Bush was when he visited Calgary on March 17. Canada's law directs that a "credibly suspected" war criminal be barred from entering the country or alternatively arrested and prosecuted. If we didn't have the most pro-Bush leader remaining in the western world, the political process might not disable the legal one. In any case, she is not welcome in my country. Her crimes are extensive and the worst a human being can commit. Shame on the U of C for inviting her. Further information is available at www.warcriminalsout.com

She said the "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US" memo did not warn of new attacks. It did warn of new attacks--of preparations for hijackings and of surveillance of federal buildings. As National Security Advisor, it was her job to prevent the 9/11 attacks. Warnings from 13 foreign countries, 3 FBI offices, and the CIA went unheeded. 9/11 was her fault, and not only has she escaped accountability, she was promoted.

Condi needs to be held accountable for her incompetence, her obstruction of justice, and her perjury.

Here's a copy of the letter (http://www.stanford.edu/group/antiwar/cgi-bin/mediawiki/index.php?title=Condi_coalition_letter_draft).

Please note the part that says, "We, the student group Stanford Says No to War, are concerned with her actions these past eight years—not academic beliefs, party affiliation, or scholarly pursuits. Specifically, we are concerned about serious allegations that Rice has violated our constitution, domestic laws, and international law and endangered the American people. We are initiating a coalition of Stanford community members to create a campus-wide movement to hold Condoleezza Rice accountable for her actions."

As someone who is actively involved in this effort, I wanted to set the record straight. about what we're concerned about.

I hope Stanford can see through the mudslinging liars who would try their best at condeming this intelligent, successful woman. It's outrageous what the radical left is willing to say to stir up discontent.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is to be applauded for her service to America, for representing us before other countries of the world in her intelligent and skillful manner. In her achievements, along with President Bush, of removing an inhumane butcher who slaughtered hundeds of thousands, by planting the seeds of democracy and freedom for 50 million people in Irac and Afghanistan, in itelf, is cause for great appreciation. To renounce this able and willing servant to us and our country is a misguided prejudice that is totally unreasonable.

The question I have is about a dedication to "academic freedom". Is this something that applies to all points of view? Or is it something that only applies to points of view that we are comfortable with?

I did not agree with many of Secretary Rice's actions or positions. However, I have never believed I could hold a position on an issue without subjecting it to rigorous examinations of the viewpoints on the issue. That goes for the side my gut initially feels, as well as oposing viewpoints. We learn best when we challenge preconceptions, not silence voices that make us uncomfortable.

Were people right to silence a professor such as Ward Churchill because he held views outside the mainstream, or outisde their comfort level? Why would they be right here to issue a gag order to this woman. The perspectives of one who has held the highest diplomatic office in this country would seem pertinent to study, even if the actions taken were anathema to our beliefs.

If there is to be true academic debate, it must be free and open. This smacks of censorship and close mindedness, and that is a far more horrifying crime intellectually than anything else I could think of.

Rice was Bush's faithful stooge for eight years, advocating for the disastrous invasion of Iraq, ignoring genocide in Darfur, not finishing off Al Queda and finding Bin Laden in Afghanistan and instead having Afghanistan becoming a second quagmire, alienating all of our allies in the western world, torturing detainees in the name of "freedom", and ignoring the pressing needs for immigration reform and border security. Stanford is a great institution and if would be disappointing if they took this disgraceful liar, failure, and foreign policy disaster back with open arms.

Students, especially today's students, are egregiously uninformed. As such, they are putty in the hands of any agitator who comes along. The "protests" and the demands that Condi resign are meaningless. Were these few "students" presssed to define Condi's "crimes," they wouldn't have a clue. Why is US News even reporting this non-story?

the Uniform Code of Military Justice supercedes any and all laws, local, national, and international, including, the Constitution, to protect the Constituiton. The UCMJ was adopted in 1948 to bring all the services (i.e. "well regulated militia") under one set of rules. Also, a bunch of Army Air Corps Paratroopers started The HELL'S ANGELS in 1948, as well
