Altough the city of Monterrey is not located on the US/Mexico border the city was included in the list provided by the United States Department of State for all US citizens to take aditional precautions in that area. Particularly Monterrey and the border cities.

Since when does Monterrey sit along the border?

As far as I know, the city is clearly almost and at least 3 hours away.

What is going on here?
