Loyola RAs Surprised by Stipend Change

February 18, 2009 RSS Feed Print

Loyola University Chicago resident advisers were unpleasantly surprised when they received their academic stipends from last semester, which were about one third less than what they were expecting, the Phoenix reports. Although the stipend amount was not set in stone, the returning RAs were told they would be receiving $750 per semester, while new RAs would receive $500 a semester. Instead, returning RAs received $500; new ones got $325 for the semester.

"Stipends are subject to budget approval," said the residence life director, who cited the bad economy. "No one said that they were receiving that amount definitively."

What a cop-out to drop their stipend and say "no one said that they were receiving that amount definitively" when you knew that they would expect it and not give them a heads' up.

They should fire the residence no life director and tell him he didnt expect his job definitively either loser. NOt like your job is working for a living government leecher.
