Perhaps it would be more profitable for russell athletics to manufacture Hondurans and then lease them out to other manufacvturers.

Hondurans need the work. There are legal benefits strictly enforced by Honduran law. Unemployment does lead to further gang activity. Are there abuses? Maybe, however the Honduran Ministry of Labor is strongly pro worker. Unemployment will lead to further illegal immigration. This is a complex and difficult issue!!

Certainly two sides to the story.

If the conditions in the factory are so good then why are they worried about unions being formed there?

If the workers in the sweatshops want to form a union they should be allowed. End of story.

Do you have an idea of the so called "sweat shop"? Have been here to visit the sweatshop? I have and many times. It's clean, air conditioned, and it puts food on their table and a roof over their head. And they do get paid more than their counterparts in China.

They are not forced to work there or any other factory. But the line is long to get a job at a place like that. Or would you prefer they join one of the gangs here and infiltrate the US as their only other choice.

There is no welfare or unemployment here. Every conceivable job in Honduras is taken. Honduras is the backyard of the US. Either they work here or come across illegally to take the job you are not willing to take.

Your choice. Just don't be ignorant on your comments unless you can back it up.

Take if from a US citizen residing in a 3rd world country. The choices here are very limited and atleast they are willing to work instead of being a couch potato collecting a welfare check.

Why on earth is a state university contracting to buy anything made Honduras?

Wear that alma mater logo to the football game and have no idea the sweatshop it was made in? What kind of "education" stuff is that anyway? Brand over substance.

So, glad they're canceling.
