Prometric, the company that administers the Medical College Admission Test, has apologized for erroneously sending an e-mail that told several students registered to take the tests at the Warwick, R.I., location that the exam had been canceled, the Brown Daily Herald reports. At least four Brown students received the message, which was sent a day before the test, and the Herald reported that a test administrator suspects three or four people missed the exam.

Prometric says it still does not know how or why the cancellation message was sent out.
