Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell expects to cut Penn State's budget by 6 percent for fiscal year 2009-2010, the Daily Collegian reports. That would leave the school with $20.3 million less than the amount originally allotted this past year.
The governor also announced an initiative to make video poker legal and to use the revenues to provide tuition relief for students at community colleges and some state-owned universities. Penn State and three other universities were not included in that proposal.
