I am proud to be an animal rights advocate, and perhaps sometimes violence against property (not people!) is necessary, but this sort of thing gives tarnishes a noble movement.

I can tell you as an immunology phd student that animal research is not conducted because people like to torture animals. The alternative would be to test new potential therapies on humans, unless you would prefer we stop trying to combat disease (though I'd bet you'd change your mind if you or someone close was diagnosed with a terminal illness). I can support the right to protest and certainly agree that we should never stop questioning what we do or if we have better options. Lighting cars on fire, however, does not fit into either of these categories. It is unfortunate that animal testing will never provide a means to discover a cure for such blatant ignorance as we see in this case.

Wow Larry,

thanks for demonstrating what a mental midget most "Pro-Lifers" are. You sure go a long way to prove a point.

We live in a free country. I eat meat, have bought women furs, and am polar opposite to animal rights activists. Why don't you wackos concern yourself with all of the murdered humam babies who are denied their right to live. Instead, you waste your time railing about what scientists are doing to rats and rhesus monkeys. Your time would be better spent if you picked the corn out of your own feces.

"Animal-rights extremist"= terrorist. Start calling them what they are.
