Cornell had (prior to the dateline of your article) begun to hire again, although not at full, pre-recession tilt. My department is about to make a new tenure-track appointment.

Boston University implemented a hiring freeze on October 1.

Stanford has just said hiring freeze for staff.

Not sure but maybe Berkeley will actually INCREASE hires due to stimulus and being government. Doubt it though due to state budget being decimated.
