Nearly two weeks after the fact, 14 people were charged Thursday in connection with the State College riot that followed Penn State's huge win over Ohio State on October 25, the Daily Collegian reports. Police used photographs and videos to identify those people. Police say that more charges (and arrests) are likely. Four, including one Penn State student, were charged with felony rioting, and the others, including nine Penn State students, were charged with misdemeanors.

Regardless of the circumstances, win or lose, inappropriate behavior that leads to the destruction of property and the need for law enforcement to intervene cannot and should not be tolerated. If the evidence supports the charging of these individuals with a crime, the school and the local law enformcement body should prosecute.
