I have been to SMU, and the exact same activities have and are going on there also. Very odd comment by "Minister Fred Hatchett" of NC. To you I say, do not judge another when you do not have all the relevant facts. Jeremiah 5:1 says, "Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it." A true judge is one who seeks the truth. If you must judge, be sure and get all the facts.

I know for a fact if one of the students charged decided not to go to the frat house that evening and made others stop what they were doing, and made others help put the girl in her car, take her to the hospital and waited for the girls parents to arrive, the the University would be dealing with a death and not an incident. This student was charged with the others for just showing up and saving a young students life.

Every frat house there is drinking going on every weekend. You all know that, and so do the officials for the schools. If they really cared about who got hurt because of stuff like this they'd kick all fraternities off the campus. Although, take some personal responsibility for God's sake and don't go to these events.

This wasnt a hazing event and none of the young men brought or even served alcohol to EITHER of the young girls. They were treated unfairly and were given five days to find a new place to live. This just shows the lack of responsibility by the university and their way of "sweeping it under the rug."

We know that it is the weak university headed by the nitwit president Saunders who spent $300,000 on the bedroom in her house.

Good Riddance! Plenty others are probably doing it, so some other measures may need to be employed. Such as, all rushes and interest meetings must be conducted under a non-greek university official, or outside expert who knows the mannerisms of greeklife, preferably an X-Greek such as myself. All choices must be made within 1 week, and all initiations within 2 weeks. After the interset meeting, the students will have 2 weeks to come up with the initaitaion fees. FALL SEMESTER initiations only. I could go on about how to regulate pre-initiation hazing. What a bozo decides to do after they are already official members is another.

Also, reprimand any and all greeks who engage in ostracizing its members for not pledging.

Thanks.

Yes, please get this off. This is showing up everywhere and misrepresenting SMU!

Jon H. of TX 5:42PM September 09, 2008

The headline says "SMU" but the school in question is the University of Southern Mississippi.
