Stagnant water holds many risks. Flooded septic systems release dangerous bacteria like E. coli. Because contaminated water can splash into your mouth and eyes, you are at risk of developing the bacterial disease E. coli, or a parasitic infection like giardia or cryptosporidosis. Your hands can become contaminated as well. If you have a small scratch, you can get tetanus because of the contaminated water.

I think that it is really a tragedy what happen to the people of Iowa. I am from NY and when I heard what happened I was devastated, we had a dicussion on what happen in Iowa in my english class in TCI college in Manhattan. My teacher Mr. Lubell and students in TCI including me have really gotten into helping out the people of Iowa by providing food and all types of stuff and we plan to go over there this month to make an impact. If you have any questions please contact my teacher Mr. Lubell at 212-594-4000 ext:5338 or 5780
