Stanford Treated to Oprah Giveaway

June 16, 2008 RSS Feed Print

No Oprah Winfrey event is complete without free stuff, like the two books—A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle and A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future by Daniel Pink—she gave away at Stanford's commencement this Sunday, the Stanford Daily reports.

"I really wanted to give you cars, but I just couldn't pull that off."

Winfrey's speech at Stanford was markedly different from the one she gave at Howard University last year. Check out for yourself the full Stanford speech and highlights from last year's address in Washington, D.C., below.

The Paper Trail

Nobody knows a college better than its student newspaper. And nobody knows campus newspapers better than this blog. We sift through thousands of student newspaper headlines every day to bring you the latest, most important, or just plain weirdest news from campuses across the country. Heard bigger news or a crazier story? Send tips to papertrail@usnews.com.
