For Campus Fixes, West Virginia Turns to Disposable Cameras

A program at West Virginia University that sends students with disposable cameras to snap photos of safety issues on campus has proved relatively successful, the Daily Athenaeum writes. Students report problems such as bad lighting or cracked sidewalks and also leave captions on photos that are serious and upfront ("Cracks in the foundation seem to be dangerous"), plus what I can only assume are a subtle criticisms ("Nice fence").

The student government has been doing this at UC Berkeley for two years now. It's a productive opportunity to work with university and city officials to make the area safer for students.

It's great to hear that it's an idea occurring more than just here in the East Bay.

Safety issues? The students should probably just save some time and take pics of themselves after a football / basketball game. Drunken vandalism isn't a hobby at dub v, its a way of life.
