Hasn't this tragedy cost the people of Illinois and NIU enough without tearing down a functional building and replacing it to the tune of $40 million? Virginia Tech didn't tear down their buildings; Columbine is still standing. Perhaps that money would be better spent establishing a permanent scholarship fund for at-risk students--that's a lot of credit hours! I feel it would better honor the memory of those who lost their lives to use that money to enable others to fulfill their dream of a college education--although it might not make as many headlines for Mr. Blagojevich....
