What Not To Do: Bring In Da Noise

January 25, 2008 RSS Feed Print

Penalties for noise violations are irritating enough, but how about having to spend six days in jail for one? For this Kent State student—whose legal troubles included the jail time plus more than $1,000 in fines and court costs, 52 hours of community service, one alcohol awareness class and apology letters—a conference call with these freedom (of speech) fighters from the University of Georgia may be appropriate.

And speaking of noise, Murray State University students can now make plenty of it, as long as they're in the school's designated "free speech zone"—and as long as they reserved a spot in advance.

When can this be applied to the street? There should be a place where all these def/dumb people can go and destroy their hearing. I'm tired of hearing someone elses noise vibrating through my car or windows at home. Just put these people in their vehicles and turn up the volumn until they can't hear anymore or other good punishments.
