Anti-Muslim Posters Rile GW Campus

October 9, 2007 RSS Feed Print

Hundreds of anti-Muslim fliers reading "Hate Muslims? So do we!!!" at George Washington University have upset almost everybody and prompted more than 100 people to meet and discuss the campus reaction, the GW Hatchet reports. The school administration is looking into the incident, while students, especially those of the Muslim faith, remain appalled and outraged at both the content and scale of the episode. "This is the first time I felt attacked," said one student.

The posters falsely advertise a weeklong event held by the GW Young America's Foundation, but the group's president firmly denies any involvement with the posters. "We are being targeted because we are conservative," he said. "No way in shape or in form do we support hate speech."
