'Big Sister' Bringing Down Plagiarists

In its continuing war on plagiarism, the Ivory Tower has gained a new weapon, turnitin.com, a website designed to help professors catch the enemies of academic integrity. After a short trial period, Syracuse University has made the site available to all professors, the Daily Orange reports.

While some Luddites cringe at allowing a computer to police the student population, many more educators see great potential. "I don't look at it as Big Brother," says one professor. "I look at it as a big sister that can help you."
