Campus Police and Tasers, Part 2

September 18, 2007 RSS Feed Print

A University of Florida senior was charged with a third-degree felony for resisting arrest with violence, but not before he was shot with a Taser gun, the Independent Florida Alligator reports. The student was arrested at a campus event featuring Sen. John Kerry, where the student attempted to ask a question about the Skull and Bones, a Yale secret society. His question was cut off by event officials, and he subsequently "began to scream in protest" and was soon removed for "acting in a violent manner" and "pushing the officers," according to a police report.

Sounding a little like UCLA déjà vu, the scene was caught on tape, and later posted on YouTube. The student has since been released from jail.
