Comedian, Minnesota Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, and all-around liberal rabble-rouser Al Franken went to the University of Minnesota to voice his support for workers on strike there, reports the Minnesota Daily. Franken, a member of four unions, joined multiple picket lines and spoke in front of an audience of around 100 people.
Franken has many younger fans ("He's a really cool guy," says one student), making Minnesota—with its history of electing pro wrestlers for governor—the politically hippest state in the union. —Alison Go
