Text Message Relationships: Worse Than eHarmony?

September 10, 2007 RSS Feed Print

Spineless, uncommunicative coeds at the University of Oklahoma love text messaging, especially when it comes to relationships, the Oklahoma Daily writes. "You don't have to talk face to face. You don't even have to hear their voice," said one student. "Text creepers" aside, guys apparently love the feature because it forces them to "think before they type."

Plus, "You can text things you don't want to say [when] you don't want to make it an awkward moment," says another student. Example: "Srry. Not u. Me. But still can b frnds. Xoxo." Phew, really dodged a rough one there. —Alison Go
