Cheaters Never Prosper, the Sequel

May 10, 2007 RSS Feed Print

Edging out the 34 caught at Duke's Fuqua School of Business, the Indiana University School of Dentistry has disciplined 46 students, almost half its second-year class, for cheating, the Indiana Daily Student reports. The students have been accused of stealing early glances at password-protected exam photos and radiographs. All of them received failing grades in the class, nine have been expelled, 16 suspended, and 21 received letters of reprimand.

The school says the students either guessed the password from past semesters or used commercial security-cracking software and that several groups of students worked independently to view the images, rather than in one large group. At least they work well with others. --Alison Go
