The Texas native whose Cornell rejection made him momentarily famous has now gotten into Cornell--well, the Cornell Daily Sun, at least. As the Sun's article today details, fame came to Jamal Saqib after YouTube picked up a video he had made with a friend documenting his decision to cope with his rejection letter by "Letting It Burn," both literally and in the style of pop singer Usher. As the video captured, Saqib actually dropped his letter into a flaming outdoor grill and then did a dance. "I was hit pretty hard," he tells the Daily Sun. "But instead of feeling bad about it, I immediately turned to my friend and said, "You know what? Screw it." Now he's a sophomore at the University of Texas, the Daily Sun reports--and a minor Cornell celebrity!
