Princeton University basketball fans believe they are at least partly to thank for basketball victories, a scientific study has concluded. We'd call that crazy talk, but apparently science calls it "magical thinking." The study did not prove that wiggling one's spirit fingers during a free throw shot actually helps free throws go inside the net--but the researcher behind it did seem to condone finger-wiggling nonetheless. "There's no harm in rooting for our favorite teams," she told the Daily Princetonian. "Having a sense of control ... can be healthy and comforting."
