A biological engineering professor at MIT who was not granted tenure last month plans to begin fasting February 5--and he won't stop until administrators promote him and fire the provost who didn't. In an independent review of the case, senior faculty members decided the denial of tenure was fair, the Tech reports, but the professor, who is African-American and argues his denial was racially based, disagrees.
