Michigan State, the University of Michigan, and Wayne State have filed a motion asking for federal courts to delay the start of an anti-affirmative action ban state voters approved this November, University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman announced in a statement published today in the Michigan Daily. "We want to ensure that our process is consistent and fair throughout the entire admissions cycle," Coleman writes. "We owe this to prospective students and their families."
