Whether ETS is sure that they are non profit organisation, Well every one outside the ETS community knows the fact. And now this new trap! It's ridiculous. I think if universities can back a student, if the faculties can motivate a student then the true difference can be seen. Not by this "ppi". And one thing is don't complex the lives of our younger generation. Let them grow freely. And then also see the result on their future lives.

Remember, it is to "better" assess, not "fully" assess, students that are not gifted "test-takers." I think it serves a practical tool and function of common sense, which keeps a student from wasting his/her time applying to graduate programs that will not mesh with the educational desires/interests. One does not spend all of graduate school locked in an office--there are conferences, presentations, interviews, and social functions that require one to extend themselves beyond the books.

Those qualified to get through will get through the PPI, I don't see a problem with attempts to better assess applicants.

I don't feel that it is necessary. Graduate students already face a long, drawn out process for admission. We don't need a hindrance such as this to add to our checklist.

I just wonder if the PPI is really necessary when letters of recommendation, interviews, and extracurricular activities essentially serve the same purpose of highlighting the student's soft skills such as teamwork and communication skills.
