I have a son at TJ and can tell you these students are self driven. Another thing is TJ challenges it's students and expects more from them. There is no reason why more schools can't offer the type of curriculum that TJ offers. Even here in Fairfax County. Students can do it if they are presented with it and determined. Kids from TJ come from all different backgrounds. My son never attended a gifted school. Presented the challenge and given the oppotunity then many more in the US will learn and work to their full potential.
