I think that labtops in schools is a good idea because it can help people keep organized and it can be a bad idea because they wont pay attion to the teacher and what the teacher has to say to them and what they have to learn.

The concern I have with laptops being given to eighth graders is that there are many opportunities for kids to be exploited by them, but much more opportunities for kids to expand their horizons. To learn about another culture, one that they probably would not experience in their lifetimes. This is the age of computer technology... gone are the days of leave it to beaver and matt dillon and his sidekick festus. We live in an age where though it is nice to watch National Geographic, it is not as interactive as seeing it through the computer. Us adults love computers as well and lets face it, in some cases the children can rarely get on. Not saying we are selfish. I think it is a good idea that can have the potential of going south if there is no accountability.

I am a eigth grader at a Texas School,my school is talking about issuing labtops to 9-12 graders next year. I like the idea and I know I can keep the labtop in good condition and I wont attempt to acsses any inapropreate websites. I am very responsible though. But I can see the perspective of adults who think all teenagers are irresponsible, young, and wild. But I think they should give us a chance, it will teach some of the kids responsability. But there are others who will never learn and will always be immature and irresponsible and end up working at McDonalds. But it's just at what perspective your looking from.
