There's gonna be drugs of course. But I think it gets much better than the nineties and pre-21st-century. Now it's just pot, MDNA/ecstasy and the non-legal-stuff-but-still-mess-with-your-head like cigarettes and alcohol. Pot, obviously, has a popular TV show for it and referred by Seth McFarlane as should be legalized. The internet, smart phones, the high quality video games are distracting. Nowadays people do drugs, feel horrible and they stop. Back then people do drugs, feel horrible, then they do more until they get orgasm and overdose.
Before all these technology, kids born in 1980 spent their 14-year-old birthdays doing drugs A-Z marathon. Even the school-oriented smokes to pay attention in class. The devils bring meths to school, do inhalants while walking, have sex orgy. Mostly, kids go to concerts and get wasted and sing karaoke. That's why they're so excited when instant messengers come along in 1999. These people turn out fine in their 20s though but not with a good job. After the nineties, the trend changed, people wanna be teeny boppers; they don't go indie anymore. Just look at the cult of Justin Bieber; he goes humanitarian which is a good thing but enjoying the metrosexual fame would have been considered lame among the teenagers of the 90s. Zac Efron would have lived a hard life in high school, called a fag by guys, laughed at by girls. They went for kids who don't shave, don't cut hair, wear glasses, wear wife-beaters with dark baggy jean clothes, big belts and fancy converts. That look is still popular now but metrosexual is probably out-peacock it.

Micki, the jury is, out on the long term effects of smoking marijuana. The UCLA study found no negative effects. Some studies have found positive effects and one from 2008 found an increased risk of lung disease.
My point? An educated person would know that the current research is not conclusive at all. Yes the UCLA results (as well as another that I don't recall) are counter intuitive (they are the opposite of what the authors expected).

Children and people of all ages look up to EVERYONE in society. So why set a bad example for them? Do you want your children to grow up addicted to drugs? If you dont do drugs, do you want your children to grow up with friends who are influenced? It is hard to find people now a days that are clean, and safe to be around. I certainaly dont want my children growing up under the influence and i hope that you feel the same. Just be careful what you do, remember, there is ALWAYS someone watching your example. So please set a good one.

Any semi-educated person, who are aware of just basic health facts know that smoking anything is destructive to the lung tissues which cause serious health concerns,that includes marijuana!

You're never going to be able to sell them the bill of goods that cannabis is a particularly dangerous substance. All you'll accomplish is to destroy your credibility when it comes to the serious hard core drugs. After they find out that you are lying to them about pot they're going to figure that you're lying about opioids, cocaine, and meth. It takes about 5 minutes of observation to determine that the crusaders are lying about pot. May I suggest taking the advice of one Mr. Benjamin Franklin and adopt the motto that honesty is the better policy?
