The other shoe has dropped for Cathleen Black.

Just days after a NY1-Marist poll showed only 17 percent of New Yorkers approved of the job she was doing as schools chancellor, The New York Times is reporting she's been let go by the city. A former magazine executive, Black's initial appointment had stirred controversy due to her lack of experience in the education field.

Deputy Mayor Dennis Walcott is set to take over her position.
