After many requests from students and school officials for more photos on usnews.com, we have decided to incorporate pictures of college campuses and student life into each school's homepage on our Best Colleges site.

We have asked schools to submit photos of their campus buildings and shots of student life—whatever best represents the school. The photos will debut on usnews.com in early 2011, one component of a larger redesign that will give the entire U.S. News Education section a sleeker look and increased functionality.

These photos will greatly enhance the appearance of the redesigned school pages and will create a much better user experience for potential and current students. Schools will have a chance to differentiate themselves and showcase many unique aspects of the campus experience, from sports teams to concert events. U.S. News will publish up to 25 photos for each school. We recommend that schools provide us with at least five photos.

We have built a free and easy-to-use tool to allow school officials to submit photos. Invitations to use the tool have been E-mailed to the public relations offices at every school, and we have already received many great submissions. In the case that the U.S. News photo tool invitation has not gone to the right person on your campus, please E-mail schoolphotos@usnews.com, and we will help you get started.

In addition, feel free to contact us at schoolphotos@usnews.com with any questions about using the tool.

Important note: Whether a school submits photos or not will have no impact on the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings.
