Thank you Kim, excellent article. Now I have a question. Our grandchild lives with us, we don't claim her on our tax return, however we do pay the tuition directly to the school and purchase her books and supplies. Our income would take us over the limit by a small amount, but nevertheless over. Our grandchild does not work. Are there any alternatives for us?

You truly make it seem so simple with your presentation but I discover this topic to be truly some thing which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and really broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to obtain the hang of it!

I've always wanted to be a lawyer. I still do! Unfortunatelly,i was nevr encourage to go not even to elementary or middle, not even in remote dreams "high school"total neglect and abuse from my parents"married so young,my husband didn't allow me to either! This is the reason I've strongly encourage and give my 100% suppport to my two sons. My oldest son is almost ready to graduate from Veterinary Doctor career this falling semester. And I can proudly say that he's been having my 100% financial support for this past 8 years, with no one else help, but God! no relatives, no grandpa's, no government help, no scholarships, nada, nada! Not to mention that when he first started college I was laid-off from my job. Everything is possible if we want to make things happen!!!! I' m going to continue helping my 15 year too! the same way I helped my oldest one, "my soon to be Veterinery Doctor" God! I feel so proud! thanks , in advance for allowing me to express, this is the first time I do it!!!!!I still have a dream: Hopefully, one day I can obtain at least my associate, and why not! my bachelor! If I was never meant to be a lawyer, at least, a bachelor! sincerely, Gloria Carrizales

Hi, We are in the process of starting to pay our son's school loans. Are there any programs that we can consolidate at a lower rate. We currently are dealing with Sallie Mae. Thank you.

What if you are a mom and have gone back to school how can we repay our student loan

This is really a good help for those poor students who have no money to continue their study.

They may know very well how they can take the help of tax.

We are currently in repayment for my son's student loans. Can we qualify for this tax credit? What are the parameters?

Anything at all, like these credits, helps. Loans and grants help.

The problem, though, is that available help just doesn't go far enough toward freeing those most in need of help. I'm thinking mainly of kids from families in which motivation to go to college isn't there. These kids are essentially on their own and frequently need the kind of boost that, say, allowing them to attend college for a couple of trial semesters free of all charges would provide. Those semesters free, all subsequent semesters contingent upon performance and eligibility for scholarship aid.

We need to encourage ALL who want to go to college to do so without condemning them for being their parents' children. An atmosphere in which get up and go just doesn't exist is a form of parental neglect, even abuse. One way of not accepting that is the encouragement I'm suggesting. America needs all the educated citizens it can muster and fewer citizens who have been discouraged right from birth.

I really appreciate that goverment can get less taxes towards those poor people .. I mean thoso has people all around the world

In my country ,i really dislike the people who owns a lot of money. The Disparity between poor and wenlth is much higher then other people think..

Is the government then going to charge a tax on it..like with cash for clunkers? Nobody is slimier than our government.
