How Can I Avoid Common Freshman Mistakes?

Wonderful tips for new college students! I want to highlight "Get to know professors!" with your free time. I'm not talking about going out and taking a jog with them, but being proactive and even a little bit selfish about communicating your grade goals, your needs, and requests to look at early work. As a prof, I would say that failing to ask for help soon enough and then being blindsided by an unexpected is a huge freshman oversight. This is your education. Profs are your partners in it. Get your goals and needs communicated early--and have an incredible term. Ellen Bremen, M.A. @chattyprof http://chattyprof.blogspot.com
