High school students in Wyoming take statewide assessments in reading, writing, math and science. College-bound students who show financial need may be eligible for the Hathaway Scholarship, which provides financial support to attend in-state postsecondary institutions, such as University of Wyoming.

The top-ranked secondary school in Wyoming is Jackson Hole High School in Teton County School District #1, which is near the state's border with Idaho, and almost seven hours west of Cheyenne, Wyoming's capital city.
