Many Nevada high schools participate in the GEAR UP program, which provides students with grants to attend Nevada System of Higher Education colleges and universities. According to the Nevada Department of Education, to receive the grant, students must attend a participating school, earn a 2.0 GPA and engage in activities such as tutoring.
