Really? It seems unfair to me to make students who are already in a grad school program have to take on interest charges that they did not plan on when deciding to go to grad school. At the very least, current grad students should have been grandfathered in to continuation of subsidized student loans until their grad school days were finished. Keep building your war machine and funding all your pet projects congress and abandon hard working people trying to get and education. Real nice. You ALL make me sick.

It has not been mentioned nor publicized that these changes have come with stricter guidelines for grad plus loans, making the person with old medical bills in collections, etc. ineligible. I wasn't told this. I found out when my loans were disbursed giving me 5K to live on through December with only one year left to finish my master's degree. Congress and our president needs to quit bailing out big banks and immigrants and leave something for those of us who've worked and paid taxes all of our lives until we found ourselves in the unemployment line and decided to do something productive, only to be squashed at that, too.

Really? I am going to be coming out of grad school 70K in debt -- no other options. Going into a high need field with lower pay. I have raised my kids and managed a household on low salary. DO they really think there are going to be no consequences to this? Clearly they have no interest in making sure that we are competitive as a nation. They only have interest in lining the pockets of people who were born rich.
Its a very sad day for the nation. Our forebears must be weeping at the travesty.

Typcial Beaucratic BS, take the deficit out on the backs of individuals that are attempting to better themselves in this weak economic times. Perhaps a cut in the legislatures BIG benefit packages and retirement. The American way-let the citizens pay for the governments mistakes! When will this end?
