7. Can you give a brief description of the life cycle of an application? What's the timeline applicants should expect?
When applicants submit, it can be up to three to four weeks until we begin getting to interview invites, especially if it is rounds two to four. Because we are dedicated to providing applicants independent reviews before considering an interview, it takes us a few weeks to get through a round. We always consider making interview offers up until the published notification date.
8. Which firms recruit heavily from your school? Which firms hire the highest percentage of your graduates?
Accenture; Amazon; American Express; Bain & Company, Inc.; Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Bristol-Myers Squibb; Chase Card Services; Chevron; Citi; Colgate-Palmolive Company; Deutsche Bank; Ernst & Young; Fidelity Investments; General Electric Company; Goldman Sachs; IBM; Johnson and Johnson; S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.; McKinsey & Company; Unilever; and Proctor & Gamble.
9. What are some of the most common mistakes that applicants make that hurt their chances of being accepted?
Typically, it is two mistakes: not taking our application process seriously and being unprepared for their interview, or quitting their job a few months before they apply for b-school.
10. Can you describe the archetypal student for your school?
Johnson students are professional, poised, and don't come with an attitude. Our school has an inherent culture where students know each other and develop strong ties not only with classmates, but with faculty, staff, and the alumni network. They come to Johnson knowing they are getting a premier Ivy League education where they will thrive.
