M.B.A.'s Tout Benefits of Studying Politics

I agree, avoid political study in business. Employers don't need it, don't want it, you'll just be seen as a brainwashed idealogue holding a neon sign saying 'Kick me, I'm the whistleblower with the unqualified ego.' Avoid the trendy subjects like environmental, sustainable, political, fun mix of this and that. Stick to general management and all the standard mba concentrations. They're there for a reason. If big on ethics, don't take a class, go to church, temple, mosque, a volunteer group, for pete's sake.

A typical small-to-mid size business manager might not find a focus on politics to be a valuable use of time. However for a top exec at a large and/or public firm, many aspects of government interference must be understood and anticipated in order to lead a business.

I do have to wonder who in the faculty will teach such courses, and how they will go deeper than simple political primers.
