At C2 Education Inc., we provide extensive tutoring for SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE, AP courses, SAT Subject Tests, and much more. The unique aspect of our company that differs from most tutoring companies is that we offer a 1:3 teacher-student ratio--meaning that for each tutoring session, there will be a maximum of 3 students per 1 teacher. This gives our students the benefit of a more personalized curriculum that intently focuses on their needs.

C2 Education Inc. is the fastest growing tutoring service provider in the nation. Within a decade, our company has expanded to over 120 centers nationwide and offers tutoring services in 13 states and Vancouver, B.C.

Good strategies here, but some that are missing:

1. WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING. Most of the mistakes made on the S.A.T. are made through carelessness & jumping to conclusions in your head. You’ll catch more of the carelessness and correct more of the erroneous conclusions if you put all your thinking in front of you, on the paper.

This seems as if it would take more time, but it actually does not. What takes the time is staring at the question without doing something.

2. Eliminate answers at every step, every opportunity, during every question. The difference between your current score and the score that you want is the number of times that you chose the wrong answer. Wrong answers should be swept off the page: eliminated, killed.

Every time you eliminate an answer, you are acting with the odds (4 of 5 are wrong), and you are increasing the odds of getting the right answer.

3. When you have eliminated A SINGLE ANSWER, then you MUST answer the question. Your right answers will outweigh your wrong answers (in terms of raw score points gained) over the course of the entire S.A.T.

4. The math sections move from easy questions through medium questions to difficult questions. Difficult questions are defined as those that most people get wrong. Therefore, eliminate any tempting or "obvious" answer on a difficult question. Eliminate answers that use numbers from the question. Eliminate answers that look most different in comparison to all the answers. If you must guess, then guess the answer that shares the most elements in common with the other answers.

For example: If the answers were x, x+2, x-2, x-3, & 2x-2, then you should guess x-2. It has more of the more prevalent elements than does any other answer.

I have taught test preparation for 25 years, worked for both Kaplan and Princeton Review, and have worked for myself for the last seven years. Good luck, and if you have any questions, then please use the good ol' hot e-mail.

One of the best ways to prepare for any standardized test is to practice a lot. Most standardized tests assess a limited number of concepts. The more one practices the more you will see the trends and identify your weaknesses. As a student I found Examville.com as one of the best sources for practice tests.
