Very Good Information. On-line books and swapping books would not only save money but would be good for the environment and help de-clutter college rooms and homes. Also, considering our present economy and difficulty of locating employment after graduation it would encourage and assist more students to be able to afford college.

I usually use http://textspyder.com to get my textbooks. From there you can compare prices from pretty much everyone who sells/rents online in one spot.

Check out Ebexy.com... new site set up for students to sell directly to each other... Its a student marketplace for students to sell from anywhere in the country. It helps control the cost since you are not limited to where you are in school and opens up the market...

I go to CSU and I rent books every semester. I usually save around $400 every quarter, because law books are expensive. I don't rent on campus. Instead, I rent books through online sites such as www.CheapBookRenter.com or CampusbookRentals.com because the have the lowest prices.

All this talk about how college textbooks are expensive, I agree. Me being a recent grad I am glad I do not have to buy/rent textbooks in the near future. For those who are looking for discounts check out this site, http://scholarship.bookrenter.com

I cam across this scholarship that is worth up to $25,000 and they even give discounts on textbooks for entering the scholarship. Pretty cool. Check it out, http://scholarship.bookrenter.com

The best way to save money on textbooks is to buy them used online during the months of March or April. During this time, used textbook sellers are marking down their inventory trying to sell off their overstock. You could probably save up to 50% during these months compared to January. You could also make money on your textbooks by reselling them online to companies such as MyBookCart.com. http://www.mybookcart.com

Scholarships and grants are an excellent source of money to pay for college. However, most people don't have the time or energy to do exhaustive scholarship searches. And even if they have the time, there is so much information out there that it can be totally overwhelming! I spent my son's entire senior year searching for scholarships (six days a week, two to four hours per day!) and yes, it paid off! As a result of all my hard work and the experience I gained, I founded Scholar Dollars, and I provide personalized scholarship searches for students. I focus on finding more obscure and local and regional scholarships that are not well known and harder to find, which means that my clients have a better chance of winning! You can find more information at www (dot) Scholar-Dollars (dot) com. Of course, the ultimate result and money won depends on the student's motivation, determination, and commitment. You certainly won’t win any scholarships if you don’t apply for them. But the money is definitely there if you are willing to work for it!
