Obama's Budget Leaves Funding Unclear for Disabled College Students

I hope that a selection of well-constructed post-secondary programs for students who can benefit from a life skills and vocationally focused program will continue to be funded for at least 10 years, so that their effectiveness can be adequately evaluated. Only then will we be able to see their impact on the lives of individuals, families, and communities. I have a hunch that we will find that such programs add hugely to the quality of life for the program participants, and their immediate families, and that developing more independent and productive Americans will cost society much less in terms of healthcare and welfare dollars, but we need the data to know for sure.
