This may be a stupid question but do you have to take it if you are English? Just becasue in that case it is rather silly becasue surely English people are just as competent with English as Americans are?

There is a great new bloggers website www.toeflmaster.com that has an online TOEFL iBT course. They teach all the structures and rules for answering questions in the TOEFL way. The site is simple and easy to use. They have free English grammar help and realistic TOEFL practice tests. The online course is not free, but it is cheep. Especially since they grade all speaking and writing assignments included in the cost. They even have online tutors to answer your questions via email who really know how to help! Check it out! - William

Be careful, Katy.
The PBT does not have a speaking section automatically included in it. It is GRAMMAR, READING and LISTENING. There is no speaking section. Though you can also take the TSE (Test of Spoken English), but this is *separate* test

Great tips !
Time indeed as there's no such thing as a crash course in English, though I do believe there are many wonderful resources on-line that could be considered a crash-course for the TOEFL.
I say this as I believe speaking/listening/writing English fluently still doesn't ensure a high score. Students have to be used to the test format to relax and perform well. For this reason, I'd underline your point on taking timed tests to be especially familiar with the format and master their time management. Cheers, Brad
